A Robust Air Moving Target Localization Method for a Spaceborne Multistatic Radar System in Strong Clutter Environments

摘要

In a spaceborne multistatic radar system, it is inevitable to encounter broadened and non-stationary clutter signals. These clutter signals can overwhelm slow moving target signals, thereby degrading the performance of moving target detection and reducing the target localization accuracy. To address these challenges, a novel clutter spectrum compensation, rejection, and target localization method is proposed in this article. In the proposed method, the clutter nonstationarity caused by the multistatic radar configuration is effectively mitigated. Then, an extended time-space cascaded method (Ex-F$A) is applied to achieve the clutter suppression. Based on the detected target signal, a cost function is set for 2-D angle estimation of air moving targets. To further enhance the target localization accuracy, a stereo positioning method based on multistatic information fusion is proposed, which can integrate the data from multiple radar receivers to achieve the multistatic joint target localization. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated through simulation and processing of the real-measured radar data. copy; 2025 IEEE.
