Abstract
The body-centered tetragonal (BCT) metastable phases are usually observed during deformation and rarely after heat treatment. Here, we developed a novel dual-phase high-entropy alloy (HEA) featuring about 10 vol% blocky BCT and 90 vol% FCC phases by high temperature treatment. Our designed HEA exhibits a good strength–ductility balance, accompanied by a special fracture mode. This work not only advances the understanding of the intergranular cracking behaviors but also offers a strategy to develop new duplex HEAs with good work hardening.
